Massive Attack explores themes of love and violence in the context of a world collapsing. Their genesis in the early 90s trip-hop movement informed my typographic and compositional choices. Klaus Staeck’s photographic criticism of police brutality and western totalitarianism related to themes addressed by the group as well. From the deformed baby skull motif to the dried bloody colors, the viewer should feel nothing short of disturbed... yet mystified.
